RESPETC? – Find out what it means to BC.

Would you like to know how to leverage BC Provincial $ to secure available Federal $ for your child’s post- secondary education?

Consider this:

At the end of October (early Nov.) parents of children registered in the public school system will receive some Provincial funds in association with the BC Teacher’s Strike. The temporary education support payment of $40 a day will be paid from Sept. 2, 2014 to Sept. 18, 2014, meaning a total of $520 for each eligible child.

These Provincial funds can be used to kick-start an RESP where parents of eligible children can secure additional funds from the Federal government in the form of the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) and/or Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG) and/or Additional Canada Savings Grant (A-CESG).

Ongoing contributions could be made to your RESP via your monthly Child Tax Credit.

The Teacher’s strike has been a difficult time for parents and teachers alike. Why not take those lost education dollars from today and reinvest them as tomorrow’s education funds through an RESP?
